Here at New Providence Church of God young adults are very important to us. The young adult demographic (ages 18-30) represents a group that is in a difficult place. No longer compelled by their parents to attend church, many of them don’t. The York Dispatcher quotes the Barna Group, a Ventura, California based organization that tracks religious trends nationwide, as finding that “six in ten youth involved in church during their teen years discontinue their spiritual activities in their early adulthood.”It is our hope here at New Providence that young adults will “find a place.”

The Young Adults meet Sunday morning at 9:00am for a "Young Adult Sunday School Class," and Tuesday evenings at 7:00pm for a time of Christian fellowship. The Young Adult small group also presents many other opportunities to serve and fellowship. Outtings to the beach, bowling, and mini golf are just some of the many fellowship activities planned for this year.

Conlan Swope has enthusiastically volunteered to lead our Young Adult Ministry. Conlan is a 2009 graduate of Penn State University. Having attended a public university, Conlan is very much aware of just how hard it can be to walk with Christ.
“I know how hard it can be to live as a young adult Christian. God didn’t just help me through college, He carried me! I want to help other young adults find that same source of strength.”   (Conlan Swope)
